Norfolk 'Passport' workshop to train budding exporters

Hampton Roads small business owners who want to sell their products or services overseas have until Jan. 25 to apply for "Passport to Global Markets," a three-day training program offered by the Virginia Small Business Development Center.

Eligible businesses must demonstrate that they are ready for and committed to exporting.

The program, which costs $350, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 31, Feb. 28 and March 28 at the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, 500 E. Main St., Suite 700, Norfolk. Participants will learn how to develop an export plan, identify foreign market opportunities and find relevant tax incentives and financing options.
