Workshop shows how Census data can help grow your business
Entrepreneurs who want to know their market can find a wealth of information on the U.S. Census Bureau’s website, from local demographics to consumer spending patterns and other economic trends. But navigating the site’s labyrinth of data can be intimidating. A workshop this month will teach business owners how to zero in on statistics to help them target customers and increase sales.
“Know Your Community, Know Your Businesses: Accessing, Interpreting, and Visualizing Local Statistics from the Census Bureau” is from 8:30 a.m.to 4 p.m.Sept. 25 at the George Mason University School of Public Policy in Arlington. The cost is $45.
Participants will learn to access and analyze data from the 2010 Census, American Community Survey and other resources. To register or for more information, visit http://cra.gmu.edu/ or email lsturte2@gmu.edu.
The workshop is sponsored by GMU’s Center for Regional Analysis and the U.S. Census Bureau.
